Visa

Visa is an insanely massive organization. It has groups devoted to consumers, merchants, enterprise…you name it, Visa’s got it. Our challenge was ongoing. We worked together with the Visa Design Studio to create and curate design systems, B2B guidelines, product feature guides, web pages, app prototypes, flows and more.

Clients were happy. We were happy. Check please.

The digital ecosystem

All brands have DNA that connects their various products. The Visa family of digital products is the same. We created an extensive design system for B2B and B2C digital journeys, the identity and content consistent for all users.

Background

Visa is so big that virtually all products evolve at different paces and scale based on their need at the time. Very few experiences were similar. The design system vision was to corral components and content so users could find likeness among all screens.

So we audited all design and threw ideas against the wall to see what content strategy would work. And though we worked closely with the clients, many Post-it notes were harmed in the making of the design systems.

Outcome

While two specific design systems were created for B2B and B2C, we eventually worked to bridge the gap between the two worlds. These guidelines were the foundation for all product experiences, finally bringing a holistic resource for the design studio.

What else?

You’d think the Visa Design Studio just designed cards? Well, they did a lot more than that. They also built app prototypes, white label services, and other journeys for innovative product features. By the way, we created the content strategy and the UX writing for all. Check out some WIP below.
