Skype
At the time, the video chatting giant was looking to rebrand. The Skype brand had been on the market for years and needed a personality refresh. After research came in, we discovered their existing target group had matured and their lifestyle had changed. So we got to work with research, design and content. The journey had begun.
The perfect persona
The UX researchers quickly discovered the user base had changed. In fact, the entire video chatting industry had evolved. Now, the burgeoning audience was younger and looking for apps that suited their on-the-go lifestyle.
We got started. It was mobile-first design and more energy in content. The UX/UI provided chatting options and customization. Our team created a unique experience, which included fun sharing features, onboarding flows, vibrant UI and a new business platform for the growing side hustle community.
The welcome wagon
We designed many flows for this project. Onboarding steps were simple and intuitive so users could dive right in. Each tap showcased features that matched the brand’s new personality and tone of voice.
Featuring feature cards
We created an end-to-end support journey for users. Feature cards were bold and singular in message, so users could select and customize their own experiences. One feature. Easy CTAs.
Side hustlin’ Skypers
Today, everyone has a side hustle. This is what user research revealed. To connect with the target, we created a prototype app for small businesses. Skype Pro was a project management tool to schedule appointments, manage invoices and track activity.
